Carrier Air Group 102

Air Group 102 (CVG-102) CVG-102 was established on August 1, 1950 for reserve squadrons called to active duty. The following day, August 2, reserve squadrons VF-781, VF-783, VF-874 and VA-923 were called to active duty.

On February 4, 1953 CVG-102 was redesignated CVG-12. Several squadrons were also redesignated as follows: VF-781 => VF-121, VF-783 => VF-122, VF-874 => VF-124 and VA-923 => VA-125.
